At the Dudley Page Reserve, you get to experience a breathtaking panoramic view of some of Australia’s favourite icons such as the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Centrepoint Tower.

This park is set on such a prime location that a number of tourists visit this area for sightseeing. In fact, during the day you will see tourists dispersed all over the park eager to capture their perfect Australia souvenir photo.

But of course aside from tourists, locals are also fond of this park. During the holidays such as New Year’s Eve and Australia Day, expect to see heaps of families gathered around whilst enjoying the spectacular view that the park offers.

It is definitely an ideal place to visit on New Year’s Eve because of the fireworks display that can easily be spotted given the park’s vantage point and clear view of the city. The local council also organises a festive family friendly mini carnival that is set annually at this park during New Year’s Eve.

Dudley Page Reserve is also one of Sydney’s underrated yet beautiful spots for catching the sunrise and sunset.

More than just Majestic Views

More than just its majestic views of the city, the park also has a children’s playground set that consist of swings, slides, seesaw, and ropes climb. However, please be advised that Dudley Page Reserve’s playground is ideal for small kids and not for toddlers.

Another activity to do at the Dudley Page Reserve is junior cricket. Although the allotted space in the park is too small for a full-sized match, the area can still be used for team training or even a casual game of cricket with some friends and families.

Dudley Page Reserve also boasts its outdoor gym that is perfect for those who wants to get fit and active without having to pay gym membership fees. The outdoor gym in this park features different stationary machines that can be of use in your everyday workout whilst the picturesque harbour view serves as your backdrop.

Please be advised that limited street parking spaces are available in the area and that pets are restricted inside the park. There are a few rubbish bins at Dudley Page Reserve, but there are no public toilets nearby.

Caffyn Park

Caffyn Park offers a spectacular view overlooking the Sydney harbour and city, perfect for you to relax and enjoy a picnic or even a good book. This scenic park is located at the corner of Portland Street and Black Street in Dover Heights.

Caffyn Park has a playground set that is ideal for toddlers. It has a set of swings, slippery dip, playhouse and fort climb for kids to play and enjoy.

Due to its picturesque view, Caffyn Park is a popular spot during holidays. However, it must be noted that there are no food stalls nearby since Caffyn Park is in a residential area. Caffyn Park is also an alcohol-free zone.

Rubbish bins are available at the park but toilet stalls are not. Dogs are allowed in Caffyn Park but they should be on leash and must be kept away from the children’s playground at all times.

Dudley Page Reserve

Dudley Page Reserve is a prime location during the New Year’s Eve for the fireworks display due to its clear and open view of the city and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is also one of Sydney’s underrated yet beautiful spots for catching the sunrise and sunset.

Aside from its fantastic location, the park also has a children’s playground set that consist of swings, slides, seesaw, and ropes climb. This playground is ideal for small kids and not for toddlers.

Unlike Caffyn Park, Dudley Page Reserve has a nearby cafe on the corner of Military Road and Blake Street that offers a few selection of food and beverages. However, alcohol, glass materials, and pets are restricted inside the park. A few rubbish bins can be found at the park but there are no public toilets nearby.

Rodney Reserve

Rodney Reserve is a popular, flat playing sportsfield located at Rodney Street in Dover Heights. The Rodney Reserve playing field is set against a sweeping panoramic vista of the Pacific Ocean.

The sportsfield has a combined basic footy and soccer goal posts that is perfect for a quick and casual game with your best mates. Rodney Reserve’s sports field is also available for hire through the Waverley Council. To book this playing field for a match, you may send an email to venuehire@waverley.nsw.gov.au.

A children’s playground set is also placed within the vicinity of the Rodney Reserve. Kids can either choose to use this playground or head over to the nearby Raleigh Reserve in the south for a different playground set.

For those who want to grab a quick snack and drink, there is a nearby cafe located on the corner of Blake Street and Military Road. There are a few rubbish bins in the park but note that there are no public toilets and changing rooms.

Dogs are allowed inside the Rodney Reserve but they must be on leash at all times and should be kept clear of the sports field when games are ongoing.

Raleigh Reserve

Raleigh Reserve is a narrow park located at Raleigh Street, just at the south of Rodney Reserve.

This park has a children’s playground set that is fenced with slides, swings and fort climb that are ideal for small kids and not toddlers. Kids can also head over to the nearby playground up north in Rodney Reserve if they are still up for more play time.

Raleigh Reserve’s elevated position makes this park an ideal location for its picturesque view of the coast. In fact, it is even advised to bring your own binoculars for some whale watching whilst admiring the view of the ocean from the Raleigh Reserve.

Another activity to do in Raleigh Reserve is exploring the coastal trails available. Sydney eastern suburbs offers a variety of coastal walks and trails for you to choose from. By heading out on a coastal walk, you get to appreciate the beautiful view that the Sydney coast has to offer.

If you are looking for snacks and drinks, you may want to head down to Military Road to North Bondi for some cafes and food stalls. Raleigh Reserve has allotted a few rubbish bins in the area however there are no public toilets nearby. Dogs are allowed in the park but they should be kept on leash at all times.
